Frequently asked questions

Why does the export control not appear?

Make sure the current page is an active ChatGPT conversation, then refresh the tab. If it still does not appear, confirm the extension is enabled and open AI Chat Export from the browser toolbar.

Why can a long conversation fail to export?

Very long conversations may contain unloaded messages, oversized code blocks, cross-origin images, or content that exceeds browser rendering limits. Scroll the conversation to load it fully, then try Word or Markdown for the most reliable result.

How do I sync Pro access?

Use the same email for checkout and extension login. Then refresh the AI page or use restore purchase inside the extension. If access still does not appear, send the purchase email and order details to support.

Are exported files uploaded to ChatVault?

Local export files are generated in your browser and chat bodies are not sent to ChatVault, Supabase, or Paddle. If you explicitly start Notion sync, the selected conversation and included images are sent directly to your connected Notion workspace. Obsidian sync writes to your selected local Vault.

How is AI Chat Export different from ChatVault AI?

AI Chat Export focuses on exporting the current conversation into polished local files. ChatVault AI focuses on longer-term organization, folders, bookmarks, title sync, and knowledge management. The products can share the same account and Pro entitlement.
